Omin's Picks

A transplant from North Texas, Omin is a lifelong lover of Science Fiction, having been raised on the shoulders of Carl Sagan and Captain Jean-Luc Picard, and Buck Rodgers. They also have a deep appreciation for horror and it's versatility in storytelling; which probably stems from being shown the 1938 Orson Wells radio dramatization of H.G. Wells' The War of The Worlds, their mother's collection of Stephen King titles, Return To Oz (1985), and literally any of the Goosebumps books at a very young age. Omin enjoys reading anything that resonates with some part of them. They are always looking for meaning and live to pick characters and worlds apart to see what makes them tick. They love a loner who yearns. They love a yearner who loses. And while Romance is not a genre they seek out, Omin believes Love in all its shapes, forms, and fatal flaws is the beating heart of the most human stories ever told.
Some favorite titles include: Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer, The Raven Cycle (1-4) by Maggie Stiefvater, House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester, The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Fullmetal Alchemist by Hiromu Arakawa.
