What do you mean by "queer" bookstore?

To quote our friends at Fabulosa Books, located in SF's Castro neighborhood, our store "identified as polyglamorous, post-binary, and go-go-sexual". In other words, Little District Books is proudly queer-owned and operated and our collection is wholly dedicated to books by and for queer folks across the spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities.

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 2 weeks of your purchase. Please bring a receipt (digital or physical) - we may be able to process your return without a receipt but cannot guarantee the ability to do so. Returned books must be in the same condition as when sold. 

What is your exchange policy?

As with returns, we are happy to let you exchange a book within 2 weeks of your purchase so long as you cover any difference in price. Please bring a receipt (digital or physical) - we may be able to process your exchange without a receipt but cannot guarantee the ability to do so. Exchanged books must be in the same condition as when sold. Kindly note that we are not a library and so we kindly ask that you do not abuse our return/exchange policies. We reserve the right to refuse an exchange. 

Do you sell gift certificates and/or offer gift receipts?

Yes! See here for gift certificates - please contact us or stop by in-store if you would like a physical gift certificate. 

Do you ship books? International?

Yes to both! You can select your shipping option during the check-out process. If you are shipping internationally, please contact us if you have any issues completing your check-out. Books are eligible for USPS Media Mail which is an inexpensive shipping service. For expedited shipping, we recommend selecting a premium service through either USPS or UPS. If you have a particular time by which you need a book then please contact us. 

I don't see a book on your website that I would like! Can I special order it?

Yes! Please complete our special order form and we will get back to you ASAP.

Will you carry my book?

It depends! Please fill out our form here and we will see if your book is a good fit for our store! Unfortunately, we are unable to carry books published only on Amazon.

What about my zine/chapbook?

First of all: queer creatives are amazing and we appreciate you sharing your work! Secondly and sadly, we are a small bookstore with no current ability to do consignment. If your zine/chapbook is available through a major distributor then please use the book submission form mentioned above otherwise we kindly ask that you send us a message via our contact form. 

I'd like to do an event with Little District Books! What should I do?

Thank you for your interest! We love holding events with authors and our communities so please complete this form if you are an author/an author's literary agent. For partnerships or special events (i.e., a queer marriage proposal, writing workshops, Pride events, etc.) please reach out via our contact form. 

Can my well-behaved and toilet-trained doggo come with me?

Yes and we love dogs and have t-r-e-a-t-s if your dog would like a treat. Our store cat is a dog named Lola who gets many treats because she is a very good doggo.

Is this a gay bookstore in the same way that gay *wink* bookstores are gay?

Although we carry on the legacy of gay bookstores by creating a space dedicated to the queer community, we just sell books (and some other fun queer knickknacks). We're a family-friendly store as we carry titles for all ages, from babies to adults!

I don't agree with the gAy liFesTyLe and I am big angry. Who can I talk to?
