Collection: Abolition.

"Just as racial slavery was a target of abolition then, a retributive and punishment-focused criminal legal system that has always been structurally inclined toward racist violence is the focus of abolition now"

As Angela Davis, Gina Dent, Erica R. Meiners and Beth E. Richie remind us in Abolition. Feminism. Now.our carceral state has long been committed to the criminalization, imprisonment, and punishment of people - particularly those outside hegemonic racial and class lines. We know all too well the histories and present realities of queer folks, especially queer and trans people of color, enduring deep injustice and violence at the hands of police, law enforcement agencies, and the criminal justice system.

As the government expands surveillance and detention of black and brown migrants, enacts and condones police brutality, deepens the crisis of mass incarceration, and attempts to intimidate american cities such as as LA and D.C., we stand firm in our belief that queer liberation requires bold action in line with abolitionist strategies and visions.
