Collection: Black Liberation!

Juneteenth (June 19th) recognizes the day in 1865 that Black slaves in Texas were told of their freedom under the Emancipation Proclamation. Although, enslaved people in Delaware and Kentucky had to wait until the ratification of the 13th Amendment in December of that year to be freed, Juneteenth is still a vital celebration that marks the end of slavery in the U.S., enslaved! In spite of deep historical and ongoing anti-Black racism, Black folks have endured, organized, and spread life throughout the U.S. - so as we celebrate Pride this month, we commit to the work of honoring the influence, leadership, and brilliance of Black queer folks!
